Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: October 20, 2026

Why this page exists

Freelance Tax Desk aims to distinguish educational publishing from commercial promotion. This page explains how any commission-bearing links, sponsorships, or material commercial relationships must be disclosed. It does not claim that the website currently participates in an affiliate program.

How an affiliate link can work

If we enter an affiliate arrangement, a merchant may pay us a commission when a reader uses a qualifying link and completes a purchase or another specified action. Eligibility, price, and commission rules are set by that program. A commission does not guarantee that a product is suitable for your tax or financial circumstances.

Disclosure at the recommendation

Where a material connection exists, we will identify it in plain English close to the recommendation and before or alongside the relevant links. A footer policy alone does not replace that disclosure. Sponsored material and benefits such as free products or paid placements must also be identified when relevant. A link described merely as an “affiliate link” may not adequately explain that we can earn money.

An example of the disclosure to use when a commission relationship actually exists is: “We may earn a commission if you buy through the links in this article.” That example does not identify any present partner or agreement.

Editorial independence

Commercial compensation must not determine whether a factual claim is true or justify an unsupported recommendation. We aim to explain material limitations, costs, and alternatives and distinguish a merchant’s claims from independently checked facts. We do not present a paid placement as an independent review or claim to have tested a service when we have not.

Advertising and privacy

Display advertisements, if introduced, will be separate from editorial recommendations. A displayed ad is not a guarantee or endorsement by the publisher. Any tracking involved must be assessed and reflected in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy before activation.

Questions

To ask whether a particular recommendation has a commercial connection or report an unclear disclosure, contact us through Contact Us. This policy follows the principle of clear, conspicuous disclosure of material connections described by the FTC’s Endorsement Guides guidance.
